Boy, 5, who died in fall from block of flats named locally as Alam Makial

A five-year-old boy who died after falling from a tower block of flats in east London has been named locally as Alam Makial.

The child fell from an upper floor of Jacobs House in New City Road, Plaistow, at about 06:00 BST on Thursday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner, the force said.
